What is Drop Wire Clmap?

The drop wire clamp is used to secure flat cable to the hook or span clamp. These clamps are installed on buildings, utility poles, and mid-span to effectively reduce the tension caused by cable sagging. 

The composition of the drop wire clamp

The drop wire clamp consists of an open wire duct, a stainless steel gasket, a shell, and block. 

The main body and gasket of the drop wire clamp are made of 201/304 stainless steel. The clamp is made of 201/304 stainless steel or aluminum alloy, galvanized steel, and other materials.

Types of drop wire clamp

1 pair – 2 pair wire clamps are designed to support both ends of an aerial service drop using one or two pairs of drop wires.

6 pairs of wire clamps are designed to support both ends of an aerial service drop using six pairs fiber reinforced drop wires.

How to install drop cable clamp？

Step 1: Put the cable into the housing.

Step 2: Press the stainless steel gasket onto the cable with the threaded side facing the cable.

Step 3: Insert the wedge into the housing and pull the wedge to secure the cable.

Step 4: Hang the stainless steel hook of the drop wire clamp on the crossarm of a building or pole.

Step 5: Check and maintain on time.
