Toggle1.What are the steel utility poles?
The steel utility poles are used to overhead cables and provide lighting for urban and rural roads. They are widely used in the electrical and telecommunications fields and are the basis for installing other pole line hardware (electrical cross arms, span clamps, insulators, guy grips, drop wire clamps, and pole bands).
2.Advantages of steel utility poles compared to wooden poles?
The same type of steel utility poles are 50% to 70% of the weight of the wooden poles, and they are lighter. Utility poles do not need to be treated with chemical products for corrosion protection, and have little impact on the environment. The hot-dip galvanizing process improves the corrosion resistance of the electrical poles and does not pollute the environment.
3.Advantages of steel utility poles compared to Concrete poles?
A common concrete pole 12 meters long and about 300 mm in diameter, it weighs about 2 tons. The same size as the steel utility poles, it weighs only half as much as a concrete pole, and they are more convenient to transport and install, especially in places with complex terrain such as rural roads, where its advantages are more obvious.
4.What are the characteristics of galvanized steel utility poles?
- Corrosion resistance
- High strength
- High temperature resistance
- Easy installation
- Sustainability
- Low maintenance cost
5.How can I get the price of the needed steel utility poles?
You can provide the exact dimensions, such as height, thickness, top diameter, and bottom diameter, so that we can provide a quote based on your needs.
We are a professional manufacturer and exporter of utility poles (power poles, telephone poles, and telecommunication poles are all in our sales range). You can send us detailed drawings, and we will quote you based on the drawings.
6.What should we pay attention to when handling and transporting utility poles?
The best way to transport the poles is to use nylon slings to protect the integrity of the poles to the greatest extent. If you use chains to transport them, it may damage the paint on the electrical poles. The weight of the steel utility poles is 30% lighter than that of wooden poles, so you have many ways to transport them, such as truck transportation. But you need to separate them with blocks to better protect them.
7.How to install steel utility poles?
- Prepare tools such as crane, excavator, wire rope, level, and so on.
- Dig the foundation pit for the telephone pole, the depth is generally about 1/6 of the pole length.
- Use a crane to lift the steel utility poles and slowly place them into the foundation pit. When lifting, ensure that the poles are placed vertically to avoid collision and damage.
- The bottom of the steel utility pole is firmly connected to the foundation, usually by means of embedded bolts or concrete pouring.
- Grounding of electric poles.
- Check the stability of telephpone poles to ensure they are secure.
